AI can help organize a government solicitation and turn approved company information into a first draft. It cannot make your business eligible, create genuine past performance, or guarantee a contract. The useful starting point is deciding whether you can deliver the requested work under the actual terms.

Check readiness before writing

Draft from evidence you can support
Supply approved descriptions of your actual capabilities, relevant projects, staff qualifications, and proposed delivery approach. Ask AI to map those facts to the evaluation structure. Preserve limitations rather than polishing them away.
In a fictional example, a business has completed two commercial document-scanning projects. AI may help explain that experience and its relevance. It must not turn it into ten federal projects, a security certification, or a named agency endorsement. The original project records are the evidence.
Keep controlled, restricted, personal, and confidential information out of unapproved AI systems. Public availability of a solicitation does not make every supporting company document public. Check the opportunity’s data-handling and AI-use instructions and use qualified help when security obligations exceed your expertise.
Check the offer as an operational commitment
Recalculate prices and quantities independently. Include the actual delivery, administration, compliance, and support work required. Understand how payment timing affects your ability to perform. An attractively low generated price is not useful if the business cannot deliver at that price.
Have the responsible people check technical commitments, qualifications, contract terms, and any subcontracting arrangement. Do not rely on AI to sign representations or certify that a proposal complies. Requirements for disclosing AI use depend on the applicable instructions; do not assume either a universal disclosure rule or universal permission.
Before submitting, compare the finished files with the requirements table and the latest official amendments. Confirm the authorized submission route, allow time for technical problems, and retain the receipt or other evidence the system provides. A draft marked complete in your own checklist is not evidence that the agency received it.
A worthwhile outcome may be a carefully prepared offer, a request for clarification, or a decision not to bid. AI is most helpful when it makes the work easier to inspect. Winning still depends on a real business meeting real requirements, not on how persuasive the generated prose sounds.
